In simple terms, Dental Implants are an advanced treatment option for replacing missing teeth.
Dr Nick has many years experience and expertise in implant dentistry and provides this established treatment option for replacement of missing teeth. Nick is a Fellow of International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and has a Masters degree in Prosthodontics.
Unlike removable dentures or bridges, to replace a missing tooth, a dental implant will not require work on neighbouring teeth. Implants are stand alone restorations.
How the process works…
A dental implant is a small titanium screw replacing the root of the missing tooth. Fixed, implant-borne teeth not only look like your own teeth, they feel like them too. A dental implant replaces the lost tooth root and acts as a ‘post’ for the implant crown.
Dental Implants make a very attractive alternative to dentures and bridges, restoring function and aesthetics and therefore quality of life.
Reversing a potential DISASTER.
As technologically advanced and exciting Dental Implants are, it’s their application in real life situations that makes one realise the true value of this wonderful process.
We had a young lady come in that had accidentally damaged her tooth a couple of days before the wedding. No need to explain what a disaster that would have been, but we had managed to remove the damaged tooth and replace it with an implant just in time for the wedding.
What this treatment did for this young lady goes well beyond the mechanics of expertly carried out dental work.
