Porcelain Veneers

Are you unhappy with the shape, shade or position of your teeth?

Do you dream of being able to smile without being embarrassed by your smile?

A smile makeover with bespoke porcelain veneers maybe the solution you have been looking for!

What are veneers?

Veneers are bespoke coverings for individual teeth to improve the shape, shade and position of the teeth.

What are veneers made of and how do they attach to teeth?

Bespoke veneers are made by our master artisan ceramicist Max Zuppardi, right here in Mosman. Each veneer is hand crafted in dental porcelain to give the most natural aesthetics that reflect the light just like a natural tooth. Each veneer is bonded to the natural tooth with a translucent dental adhesive.

Do veneers require tooth preparation?

Your cosmetic dentist will remove somewhere between 0.3 and 0.5mm of enamel in order to accommodate the porcelain veneer. The enamel shell of a tooth is approximately 1.5mm thick so healthy tooth structure remains.

How do veneers improve facial aesthetics

Veneers can give support to the lip tissue reducing the sagging of the tissues and reversing the signs of ageing. Veneers can be designed to give a broader, fuller, wider smile reducing unaesthetic black corridors in the corners of the mouth.

How much do porcelain veneers cost?

Our bespoke, artisan crafted veneers are $1950 per tooth.

In addition to porcelain veneers, our composite veneers are also a popular option for enhancing the appearance of teeth, but they have distinct characteristics. Here are some pros and cons to consider when making your choice between the porcelain and composite veneers

Pros:

  1. Cost-Effective: Composite veneers are generally more affordable than porcelain veneers, making them a budget-friendly option.
  2. Same-Day Treatment: The entire process of getting composite veneers can often be completed in a single appointment, as they are directly applied and shaped on the teeth.
  3. Repairable: If a composite veneer gets damaged or stained, it can usually be repaired easily by the dentist without the need for replacement.
  4. Less Tooth Reduction: Minimal tooth reduction is required for the application of composite veneers, preserving more of the natural tooth structure.
  5. Reversible: Unlike porcelain veneers, the process of applying composite veneers is reversible, as they can be removed without significant damage to the underlying teeth.

Cons:

  1. Durability: Composite veneers are generally less durable than porcelain veneers and may be more prone to chipping, staining, or wearing over time.
  2. Staining Potential: Composite material is more susceptible to staining from certain foods, beverages, and smoking, requiring more frequent maintenance and care.
  3. Appearance: While composite veneers can look natural, some argue that porcelain veneers offer a more translucent and lifelike appearance.
  4. Longevity: Composite veneers may not last as long as porcelain veneers, and they may require more frequent replacement.
