Why don’t we offer same day veneers?

You may have seen many practices offering same day or cheap veneers in Sydney. This may initially sound very appealing but please proceed with caution, the end result might not be what you want!

Many practices entice potential patients with the promise of a new smile within the day at a reduced cost. The reality is often very different. Veneers produced in a day are designed, milled and finished in the practice often by a dental nurse or auxillary not even the dentist or a qualified ceramicist or technician. This often results in poorly fitting veneers that can stain around the margins in time or develop decay, they are uniform in shade because they are milled from a single block of ceramic (monolithic) and don’t have the same optical properties of natural teeth. Natural teeth are layered and as a result reflect the light and have areas of translucency and opacity. Our veneers aim to replicate natural teeth, looking vital and alive and are hand made by our master ceramicist who has taken the time to meet you in person, discuss your desired end result and then painstakingly crafts your bespoke veneers in either layered porcelain (feldspathic) or hand tinted milled ceramic to give the best aesthetic result.

Same day veneer practices often have a one size fits all smile design because it is quicker and easier to produce. We never do this! We offer bespoke dental veneers, designed exactly how you want them and as beautiful and individual as you and your smile. We take the time to listen to what you want, what you like and don’t like and how you envisage the end result to look. We always trial your new smile in temporary veneers for a few days, listen to your feedback and adjust accordingly if needed. This crucial step is missed entirely in same day veneer practices. Meaning the first time you ever see your new smile it is finished and can’t be adjusted. What if you don’t like the shade or the shape of the teeth? Or the bite feels off or your speech is impaired? These can’t easily be adjust in the final veneers and often result in a full remake at the patient’s cost but can all be adjusted in the crucial temporary stage.
